What is FLISP
FLISP is a government housing subsidy aimed at helping South African citizens purchase their first home. Several factors are taken into account when applying for a FLISP subsidy.
These are the main qualifying criteria for the FLISP subsidy:
- South African Citizen
- Over the age of 18
- Married or have financial dependents
- Earn between R3501 and R22000 per month
- First-time home buyer/owner
How Much is a FLISP Housing Grant?
The Government Housing Subsidy works on a sliding scale. The less that you earn, the higher the grant, and the more that you earn, the less the grant.
Persons who earn between R3501 and R3700 would qualify for as much as R169,264, whereas someone with a higher income, ranging from R21801 to R22000, would only receive a government grant of R38,911.
Regardless of the amount of the grant, this is valued free assistance from the government that could make the difference between you being able to afford a home or not.
How to Apply for FLISP?
